Annette Fienieg (1959) is a visual artist and illustrator. She studied dry needle etching and lithography techniques at the Academy of Visual Arts in Utrecht (now HKU University of the Arts Utrecht) and completed her degree in 1985. Today she produces most of her work in the form of stencil prints. She also does pencil drawings and paints with acrylics. Her subjects include landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes and portraits.
Besides pursuing her interests as an artist, Annette Fienieg also works as an illustrator, who specialises mainly in children’s books – both fiction and non-fiction. She made her debut as an illustrator with the book Spin in de Morgen [Spider in the Morning] in 1986. She has since illustrated more than a hundred children’s books for various publishers in the Netherlands and other countries.
