Established in Oostzaan in 1983 by designer Piet Boon (1958), Studio Piet Boon started out as a small design practice that specialised in bespoke homes and interiors. Three years later interior designer Karin Meyn (1961) joined the practice as business partner and Creative Director Interior & Styling. Today the two designers lead and inspire a dynamic international team of experienced professional designers, architects and stylists. In the 3 decades since its inception, Studio Piet Boon has emerged as an international multidisciplinary design studio with an impressive portfolio of private, corporate and commercial clients.
As a leading design studio that specialises in total concepts, Studio Piet Boon creates bespoke contemporary architecture, interiors and products. Its design signature is characterised by the use of strong lines, symmetry, clear sightlines and smart solutions that make optimal use of space and light. Designs that originate from Studio Piet Boon stand out as a seamless marriage of functionality, aesthetics and individuality.
ButterfliesThe title of the Studio Piet Boon Miffy statue is Butterflies. ‘To know Miffy is to love Miffy. Dick Bruna’s simplicity, use of colour and timeless design are consistent with our own approach to design. The Studio Piet Boon Miffy is covered from top to toe with handmade butterflies of all sizes in various shades of blue and white. The butterflies are symbolic of Miffy’s transformation and add depth and texture to her iconic shape.’
